Safeguarding
Safeguarding Statement
Safety and dignity are central to work involving children, young people and vulnerable adults.
JPI's programmes should be designed around proportionate safeguarding procedures, clear responsibilities and appropriate escalation routes. Activities involving children or young people should include suitable risk assessment, consent, supervision, partner checks and safe recruitment arrangements.
Core commitments
- Respect the welfare, dignity and rights of participants.
- Respond promptly to safeguarding concerns.
- Use appropriate checks and supervision for roles involving children or vulnerable people.
- Share information only where lawful, necessary and proportionate.
- Work with specialist or statutory services where concerns require escalation.
Immediate risk
If somebody is in immediate danger, contact the emergency services. The JPI website is not an emergency reporting service.
Operational note: before Opportunity Bridge begins direct work with participants, JPI should publish the named safeguarding lead, reporting route and full operational safeguarding policy.
